With a smartphone that can read IC card driver's licenses and this app, you can electronically apply for a "certificate regarding driving history" at the Automobile Safety Driving Center.
The smartphone must have NFC functionality and be able to read the information inside the IC card driver's license.
To apply through this app, you will need the following:
- The PIN number 1 that you registered when your driver's license was issued.
- Residing at the address listed on the driver's license.
- A valid email address that can receive emails on your smartphone.
To complete the application, follow the instructions on the app's screen, input the necessary information, and register the application. After registration is complete, you will be guided on how to pay the application fee. The application will be considered complete once the payment process is finished.
There are four types of certificates regarding driving history that can be electronically applied for through this app: accident-free and violation-free certificate, driving record certificate, accumulated points certificate, and driver's license history certificate.
The SD card symbolizes pride and awareness of being a safe driver. It can be used to receive discounts at SD preferential stores such as restaurants, roadside stations, and service areas on highways. If you have applied for an accident-free and violation-free certificate or a driving record certificate and have no records of accidents or violations for more than a year before the date of the certificate, an SD card will be provided along with the certificate.
Please note that some smartphones may not have the NFC logo on the back, but they can still be used to read the information inside the IC card driver's license. Please check the manufacturer's official website or other reliable sources for confirmation.
When reading the IC card driver's license, if the PIN number 1 is entered incorrectly three times in a row, the IC chip will be locked. Please be careful. Inquiries about the PIN number and unlocking procedures can only be made by the individual at the driver's license center of the prefectural police or at the police station's license counter. For more details, please contact the police station or relevant authorities.
To confirm that the application is made by the individual, the certificate will only be sent to the address listed on the driver's license. If your current address is different from the one on the driver's license, you will not be able to apply through this app. Please take note of this.
In rare cases, tapping the hyperlink of the application URL may not launch the app. If this happens, please try the following:
- If you are using a mail app other than Gmail, try using Gmail or another mail app to see if you can receive the email.
