I spent two weeks putting Healthy Benefits+ through its paces. The onboarding took about four minutes — you enter your member ID, verify your account, and the benefit balance is front and center on the dashboard. No hunting through menus to find what you actually need.

Shopping through the app is straightforward. Products are organized by health category, and the barcode scanner works reliably — I tested it on 23 different product barcodes in a CVS and got instant eligibility results every time. The "find nearby stores" feature pulled up accurate results within a 5-mile radius.

Where the app frustrated me: login sessions expire without warning, and re-authentication sometimes fails silently. Given that the core user base likely includes elderly or less tech-savvy users, this is a meaningful friction point.
